Overall it’s a good product. Few things, when I first opened the brand new box, between the Wi-Fi, the base and the sock, they didn’t want to connect to each other especially the base. I had to get the company to help me do it in depth. There is always a connection issue, not a placement issue with the sock, connection. Even with a strong Wi-Fi system, the base ALWAYS disconnects from the sock at random times and you never know when it will connect back or if it will connect back. I’ve been using it for a while now and it still does this. 300$ product and you would think it would have zero issues. I got this product to ease my mind and sleep better and sleep throughout the night but I still can’t/don’t. Especially not knowing what’s really happening with my newborn. My only two complaints is, one, it so easily gets misplaced. If my daughter wakes up and starts move around the alert goes off and its loud! Most of the time we are asleep when it happens. Two I don’t like that is doesn’t save her oxygen readings, which is why we bought it.But if you are just wanting to track sleep it works great! It’s a little pricy but I love it.This is a great monitor but the camera freezes quite a bit. The sock is great at tracking and I do trust it.This device has really given me some peace of mind during the night with a newborn. It keeps track of his heartbeat and oxygen level. If he gets agitated or any of the vitals become elevated than the base and my phone go off. Granted, I get to him before any of that happens. I tested it once and it kept going off untilI was able to settle him down (he hates diaper changes). That extra level of protection makes me sleep better.First… Imagine putting this on a kicking, screaming child. If it’s not on just right, it will alarm you. Which is scary when you randomly get an alert and you have to wake up your kiddo to fix it. Then, imagine you trying to get data on your child’s sleep and HR/ o2 and they give you a line graph with no numbers. Just the line going up and down. Also, it shows you in a bar when your child woke up, but again there are no numbers, so I can’t see what time or for how long. I would love for this to have more data and information. It would be nice to compare o2, sleep, and hr as well to see the correlation. For me, it is not worth it. You can’t rely on it for medical purposes and I can hear my kiddo wake up before it even alerts me she’s up.The owlet dream sock is game changer and is worth every penny! My wife and I are new parents and we would constantly check on our baby. Are they sleeping okay? Is he breathing? This sock has given us a peace of mind and sleep! I love that you get live readings from the palm of your hand. I’m really happy with this product because it does exactly what it is meant to do. It tracks and monitors my baby’s heart rate, oxygen levels while sleeping and you know exactly how long and how many times they woke up. To use owlet you will keep the base station close to where your baby sleep. It will light up five different colors depending on what the sensor picks up and it’ll also alert you on your phone. The 5 different colors are: White light – when charging sock green light–readings from your baby Yellow light- baby kicked socked off Blue light – lost connection/out of range Red light - something wrong with baby When the baby is moving you will not get any reads on the app obviously. This is strictly when your baby is sleeping. I like how the owlet socks come in several sizes and it’s super easy to put on the baby’s foot. All you must do is put on 2 Velcro straps. My baby has not been able to kick off the sock. The sensor itself is very easy to swap out as well. The app is simple and easy to navigate. I had the sensor off for a few mins and the dock played a musical tone to alert me it couldn’t find the baby’s reading. The alert is very soothing it plays a musical chime. You can easily turn off the dock from the phone app. I would highly recommend this for a peace of mind for your newborn, especially for new parents.I have a Nanit cam that I love but this Owlet has the last.few things that the Nanit is missing. I love the app because it's easy to set up and use. It keeps tract of her sleep cycles so you can see how much sleep and the quality of sleep you baby is getting. I put it on after bath time and watch it as I do the last fees. I realized I was putting her down too early. The Owlet has a scale that shows you when they hit deep sleep. I just keep rocking her untill the scale shows she's deep, then I set her down, and lights out.We do continue to use this every night, however, I just wish it had a little more functionality. First, the oxygen is not real time, it's a 10 minute average. That was a surprise to me and a disappointment. Also, I wish the history was more detailed. It shows a line of the heart rate for the night and tells you the average but I would like to be able to click on the line and see the actual heart rate and time. However, I do pop in my app and watch his heart rate every night several times. The heart rate is a live reading (or within a few seconds at least). It gives me peace of mind. Overall I am glad we have this item, just think it has potential to be much more helpful with a few minor tweaks.***PRODUCT WILL NOT ALERT PHONE WHEN ALARMS GOING OFF- when I’ve had 2 false alarms from this device when it flashes purple and makes a chirping sound it DID NOT ALERT MY PHONE!! As I was not in the room the baby was I had no idea there was even an alarm - it was my partner who told me about it as she was in the room! The alarm only sounds on the base station and it’s very quiet (you likely would not even wake up to it)… this is a HUGE problem.. I contacted Owlete about this after the first alarm which didn’t notify me and they said to reset the modem, which I did, and it happened again weeks later.. this means that for you to be sure you’ll “notice” an alarm you need to always be next to the base station and have no secondary noises as it’s so quiet! For a product designed to alert parents it’s honestly awful. The only good thing about it is that you can open the app to see the heart rate and (average) oxygen over a 10 min period…. BE CAREFUL & do not rely just on this product. Use this product only as an added measure.Personally I use the NANIT camera with the breathing band which is really good. (No I don’t work for nanit, I just know my stuff as I’ve been dealing with it for months now).. at first I got a ton of false alarms with NANIT also, but those alarms WILL wake you up- it’s quite intense - which is good. But it wasn’t until I repositioned the NANIT camera closer I stopped getting all false alarms. The NANIT is my 1st line of defence and the owlette is an unreliable 2nd choice. The product is being sold way to high of price also. It’s essentially a lithium battery that lasts 10 hours and that tracks heart rate and average oxygen over 10 minutes. Not to mention the base unit is not loud and has terrible range for Bluetooth.Think of a Fitbit… a Fitbit battery lasts almost a week without a charge and tracks the same stuff (infact more) and is about $250-$300 cheaper for the same technology. This shows right away they are price gouging.I bought this for peace of mind for sids But the oxygen levels ( when it works) dont trigger and alarm. So even if oxygen is 0 no alarm will be triggered. And heart beat may continue up to 20 m after breathing stops, so pretty useless. Better a breathing monitor. This is just for tracking sleep. It does not send you notifications to your phone for anything other than being too far away from the base, it will alert you of your babies sleep status when you open the app.
